The 21st Century
Buddha’s Message I
This is the message from the two Buddhas,
Kasyapa Gwangmyong Buddha
and Ananda Jajae Tongwang Buddha,
who have appeared and preached
after having attained Buddhahood in the 21st century

Gwangmyong Manduk光明滿德
-Born in Bo-eun County in Chung-buk Province in 1954
-Saw the clean and pure Immeasurable Light of the Buddha
on 27 April 1997,
Experienced the six kinds of shakings within her body
the same year, met with the Buddhas and listened to
the Dharma teachings from the Buddha
-Combined and became one with her Buddha Body
in the Absolute Realm, and attained Buddhahood
on 13 September 1998
-Passed Samadhi of Great Quiescence by herself
on 23 March 1999
Jajae Manhyon 自在滿顯
-Born in Hampyong, Jeonnam Province in 1937.
Name entered in the family register: Lee Hyong-bum (李炯範)
-Renounced secular life in Busan in 1960, served as Director and Permanent Propagator of the Administrative Headquarters of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism (the then monk name: Beop-sung),
served as head monk of Yonhwasa Temple and Munsusa Temple in Seoul,
and Dean of Haedong Buddhism College.
-Received Honorary Doctorate in Philosophy from the Buddhist University of Mongolia renowned by his Holiness Zanavajra.
-Visited various enlightened teachers extensively like Priestling Sudhana of the Avatamsaka Sutra, and attained enlightenment, but later diverted to recitation of the sacred name of the Buddha.
-Entered deep Samadhi, personally met with the Buddha,
and attained his Buddha Body in 1999.
-Approved as a Buddha from Buddha the World-Honored on 4 January 2000.

One day at the time of an assembly of the Vulture Peak Mountain 2600 years ago,
the Buddha held up a flower of the Pure Land
that the Four Heavenly Kings presented
before 1250 disciples and Bhikshus
as well as a million heavenly beings.
The Buddha with his head neatly shaved
Hyonjisa of Yongsan Buddhism has enshrined the image of the Buddha whose head has been neatly shaved. Hyonjisa has declared that ‘the Buddha abides in the Absolute Realm’, and the Buddha’s images and their painted images on the wall of this temple show the appearance of having both eyes open and heads neatly shaved.
The Buddha’s image at Hyonjisa is not the appearance of the Responsive Transformation Body Buddha (Sakyamuni Buddha) who practiced and entered meditative concentration in the snow covered mountains some 2600 years ago when his head was not shaved.
It is the appearance of the Complete Body of Bliss of the Buddha who is made of the Immeasurable Light with the 32 bodily signs, and who teaches and saves sentient beings, coming in and out the relative discrimination world, after he entered complete nirvana and returned to his Buddha Body (the Reward Body) in the Absolute Realm.
Our teachers (Great Monks Gwangmyong Manduk and Jajae Manhyon) who have attained Buddhahood have seen for the first time after the passing of the Buddha that all Buddhas abide in true suchness in the Absolute Realm in Selflessness and have listened to their Dharma talks, and have enshrined the images of the Five Tathagata Buddhas and other Buddhas as they look in the Absolute Realm so that this temple will serve as the field of abundant blessings for the Buddhists of this world.
‘The Buddha with his head neatly shaved’ that does not exist in another temple in this country nor in any other temple in the saha world well expresses the profound thought of Yongsan Buddhism (靈山佛敎) that is new Buddhism for the 21st century, so seeing, praising, praying and making offerings to this genuine Buddha (圓滿報身佛) here will be utmost merit and virtues.
Vairocana Hall (lit. Hall of Great Peace and Light, 大寂光殿) of Yongsan Buddhism dedicated to Pure Dharma Body Vairocana Buddha
Vairocana translates as ‘Universally Illuminating Light 光明遍照.’ Pure Dharma Body Vairocana Buddha is the real body of Sakyamuni Buddha. At the same time, Vairocana Buddha as the Body of universal light that is the Dharma Body of all Buddhas in the Threefold Great Thousand World Systems is illuminating everywhere all the time, as if the sun shines all over the land.
Pure Dharma Body Vairocana Buddha does not originally have a human shape, but has been enshrined in the shape of the Complete Body of Bliss, Nosana Buddha, in the Vairocana Hall of Hyonjisa.
The two Great Monks, Gwangmyong Manduk and Jajae Manhyon, who have attained Buddhahood gave life to this Vairocana Buddha image in Samadhi of Great Quiescence on 15th October 2552 of the Buddhist Era (12th November 2008 of the solar calendar). When this Buddha conducts necessary work, all Buddhas are combined into and become one with this Pure Dharma Body Vairocana Buddha.
The earnest wishes of the two Great Monks have been received by this Buddha so that South and North Korea will be peacefully unified without another fratricidal war by virtue of the awesome spiritual powers of this great Buddha, that the power of this nation will expand day by day, and that the world will continue to maintain peace without the outbreak of the Third World War.
The value of this Vairocana Hall cannot be compared even with the treasure that could buy a Threefold Great Thousand World System. For these reasons, this Hyonjisa of Yongsan Buddhism is definitely the only holy land among the Buddhist holy lands in the world.
I earnestly wish that visitors would worship with the clean and pure body and mind the only Vairocana Buddha in the world who resides in the Realm of Constant Quiescence.
